Happy 20th!
To those in New Jersey, happy first day of summer vacation! c:

Drawn today at midnight will be the SPECIAL LOTTERY, the Summer! Jun 20 kit, which consists of Full Chain Armor, 32 Apples and Two Tamed Wolves!  Hurry and cash in your tickets to win this fabulous Summer Lottery!

Daily lotteries start today and will be drawn every day at midnight, all summer long! Cash it in! ;D  Today's lottery, as a "kick start" kind of thing, will be a Commercial Agloe Hills Premium Medium-Small Cloud District Plot (worth up to 20k!).  This plot comes with starter building material, such as 16 chests, a stack of oak logs, a stack of cobblestone and a stack of torches!  If more than 30 tickets are submitted in today's daily lotto, a diamond set of tools (axe, shovel, pickaxe, hoe) will be added!

To submit lottery tickets, go to /warp lottery and buy as many "lottery tickets" (sponges) as you'd like to throw in; name them your minecraft username and drop them in the hoppers!
Don't neglect other lotteries going on at the moment:

I'm excitedly announcing a server-wide Hunger Games, scheduled for the 24th!  If you'd like to participate, just show up in time!  Festivities start at 4:30 PM (Eastern Standard Time)!  The day's schedule will be published soon.  We only have 19 spots, and it's all first-come-first-serve.  Winners will win a huge grand prize, and may the odds be ever in your favor! ;D (If you cannot make it, don't fret! This will not be our only Hunger Games; there will be many more held in the future!)

And finally, June 20th marks the end of accepted staff applications.  At midnight tonight, the form will close, and staff applications will no longer be accepted.  Get those in now!

Staff Application FAQ

Is it okay to use Microsoft Word 2010?
-Yes, it's fine. If you do not have Word, contact me.

Is this all supposed to be on a Word Document?
-No, although you are instructed to attach a Word Document to the email.

How long will it take to hear from you guys?
-This is one of the things you're not supposed to ask, but it depends.

How long should my essay be?
-As long as you think is necessary; long enough to get your point across.

What if I want to apply for several positions?
-Submitting more than one application is not necessary (nor is it allowed); if you'd like to apply for more than one position, just be sure to mention (and fully supply any information) this in both the essay (#1) and #6 (and anywhere else in the application where such information seems applicable).

Where are the guidelines?
-If you're to apply for staff, be sure to read as much as you can find on applying.  The full guidelines are here, the staff application form (as opposed to the email/manual form) is here, and any posts with the "staff applications" tag are located here.

What's the difference between the "Staff Application Form" and the "Email/Manual Form"?
-There are two ways you can submit staff applications.  One is the "Email Form", where you answer the questions and attach a Word Document all in one email.  The other is the "Staff Application Form", where you answer questions on a form (some find this more convenient) and separately email the Word Document (containing the essay).

What do I do??!  I don't understand the guidelines!
-The guidelines are very advanced.  If you do not understand the guidelines, it's not recommended that you apply.

I haven't been able to get on much.  Marching band camp has started, schools coming, and I forgot to order reeds and wash my fish bowls.
Lotteries have been neglected, and yeah. I'll try to pick up me feet a bit. But--

Okay, so I'm doing a thing where I might learn perms and stuff and like okay this is going to be a massive run-on sentence, but like I think I need help, thats right I might need help shush, but like okay I'm doing a thing where like if you're interested, do the staff app thing, and if you already sent one you have my very valid permission to send another because those are all, as of now, invalid, okay, so like the one's I'm gonna pick out have to be really good like follow directions to the letter, and like yeah, its going to be really strict and I have to say don't be too upset if you're not chosen because I'm really nervous and this is the first time I'm doing something like this and yes I'm choosing someone but only if their actions, application and self meet what I think would work out yeah. Hey, guys.
Lately there's been some crap flying around. It's been hard to moderate the server and I realized that I needed some help. So I'm looking for staff..  but this option may be closed soon. This is an experiment, and only for people who are dedicated, level-headed, wise and committed. Anyway.. here it is..


Guidelines:

1. You may only submit this application once. If you submit it more than once, no matter how long you wait between applications, your applications will be immediately rejected.

2. You are not allowed to inquire about the status of your application at any time. Asking about the application will result in your application being immediately rejected.

3. Copy and paste this application (including these guidelines) into the email you create. Fill out each question fully and completely. Every single question is required. Failure to fill out any of the questions will result in your application being rejected immediately.

4. Submit the application to tron95.fallenlegacy.mc@gmail.com in order to be considered for staff. Submitting an application anywhere else will result in your application being rejected immediately.

5. This application could take days, weeks, or even months to process. Every person is a different instance. Above all else, be patient with your submission, and wait on us to call on you. We will never expect you to come forward to us to hear about the status of your application,  we will always contact you when we are ready, and not a moment before.

6. Include your IGN (no nicknames, please), as well as your age, and the amount of time you’ve played on New Signet and on Minecraft.

Application:

1. Write an essay in a Word Document, 10 pt. single spaced Times New Roman font, discussing at great length the merits and skills that you as an individual currently possess that would make you the ideal New Signet staff member. Why do you deserve to carry the title of “New Signet Staff”? What makes you the ideal candidate? Attach that document to the email.

2. Describe, at great length, any previous server and/or forum moderating experience you’ve done across any game platform or other gaming-related service. Include experience from any game, not just Minecraft. Describe any instances of administrating, moderating, anything of that nature.

3. Provide a complete list of references for each and every server or forum you have worked with as a staff member in the past. Include names, as full as you can make them, usernames, Skype contact information (if applicable), the game that was played, emails, and any other contact information that allows us to reach them in a relatively quick period of time. If you cannot provide a reference for anything mentioned in the previous question, do not list that as experience, as we cannot verify it without a reference.

4. Explain how you came to know of this server. Why did you come into the family? Where did you first find out about this group, and when did you join it?

5. Explain your current standing and feelings about every single current staff member on the server. Discuss your experiences with them and around them, how you feel about their ethics, contributions to the server, possible conflicts, and problems that might arise between the two of you if you were hired. Explain how you would feel working with or under these staff members. Write at least two paragraphs per staff member, and it is important that you be frank and honest with your descriptions. Failure to be 100% honest in this section will constitute a complete and total voiding of your application.

6. Explain what would happen if this application was rejected. Would you resent the staff? Would you stop playing on the server? How would your attitude towards players change? Answer this and other questions honestly and fully. Do not hold anything back, no matter how much you may think it would damage your application. Honesty is required; failure to provide it leads to rejection of your entire application.
